just a note - most places do NOT rank "Black Friday" as a top day for sales. it's not true, despite the hype surrounding "Black Friday" - for most sales-based businesses, in fact, that day isn't even in the top 10. i have NO CLUE how and why the media is allowed to make things up like that. sigh. sure, LOTS of people go and buy things with "special deals" on BF - and, honestly? lots of those deals end up being negative income for the retailer. they hope to create brand loyalty, and they're REALLY hoping you'll buy OTHER things, as well. most people do the bulk of their ChosenWinterHoliday shopping either months early, or mid-December - and traditionally, the 2 BIGGEST money-making days for retailers are the last saturday before Xmas [unless XMas falls on a weekend, in which case the last FRIDAY or THURSDAY before Xmas eve] and December 26th [unless it's a sunday, in which case it's split between 26th and 27th, because most places close earlier on Sundays. and some Christians INSIST they're persecuted, when everything closes early on Sunday bcuz that's the CHRISTIAN day of "rest". sigh]
